Speed

Why is my Shopify store slow?

Most slow stores have the same few causes: apps that load scripts on every page, large uncompressed images, leftover code from apps you already uninstalled, and theme sections that load before they're needed.

The free review shows which of these is costing you the most time, so you know where to start.

How much faster will my store get?

It depends on what's slowing it down. A store with several heavy apps and oversized images usually improves a lot; a store that's already lean has less to gain.

I'll give you an honest estimate after the review, before you pay for anything.

Will you remove apps I rely on?

No app is removed without your approval. For each one I show you what it costs in load time and what it does for you. Then you decide to keep it, load it later on the page, or replace it with lighter theme code.

Do you only chase the PageSpeed score?

No. The score is a useful signal, but what matters is how fast real visitors see your products and reach checkout. I measure both, and I won't break a feature just to push a number up.

Themes and customization

Which themes do you work with?

Any Shopify 2.0 theme, including Dawn, the paid Theme Store themes and custom builds. Older vintage themes can be sped up too, or moved to a 2.0 theme if that makes more sense for your store.

Can you build custom sections I can edit myself?

Yes. New sections are built so you can change text, images and colors in the Shopify theme editor without touching code.

What happens when my theme gets an update?

Every change is documented, and custom code is kept in separate files wherever possible, so moving it to a newer theme version is quick instead of a rebuild.

How the work runs

Will my live store be affected while you work?

No. All work happens on a duplicate preview theme. You check every change through a preview link, and nothing goes live until you approve it. Your current theme stays saved as a backup.

What access do you need to my store?

A collaborator request, sent from Shopify's own system. You choose exactly which permissions to give, you never share your password, and you can remove access at any time.

What's in the free store review?

A short breakdown of what's slowing your store and what's getting in the way of sales:

  • Which apps and scripts cost the most load time
  • Image and theme issues
  • Friction points on product, cart and mobile pages
  • A fixed quote for the fixes, if you want them done

There's no obligation to hire me after it.

How long does a project take?

A speed cleanup usually takes a few days. Custom sections and larger theme changes take longer depending on scope. You get a delivery date with the quote, before work starts.

What if something breaks after launch?

Tell me and I'll fix anything related to my work at no extra cost during the support period included with every project. Because the old theme is kept, it can also be restored in one click.

Pricing and payment

How much does it cost?

Every project gets a fixed price after the free review, based on what your store actually needs. You know the full cost before anything starts, with no hourly surprises.

How do I pay?

You can hire me directly or through Upwork if you prefer its payment protection. Larger projects can be split into milestones, so you pay as each part is approved.

Do you work on WordPress or Framer sites too?

Yes. I also build and fix WordPress sites and design Framer landing pages. Mention it in your message and I'll quote it the same way.
